This highly addictive game (just ask Becky!) was invented by the Russian programmer Alexey Pazhitnov in 1985.
Now available in hundreds of versions for computers, hand held devices and games consoles, this has to be one of the most popular electronic games.
After an extensive search lasting 15 minutes, the freeware versions below were found. They are very small, can be downloaded in a couple of minutes on ordinary dial-up. These games can also operate in stand alone mode; there is no installation, just save them to the desktop, the hard drive or even a USB drive. Simply double click to run.
The two games have been tested on Windows XP SP1 and SP2, but should also run on Windows 98 and Windows 2000.
Both these versions operate in the same manner; it is mainly the look that differs.
Tetris_gy is based on Flash and
looks the prettier but can be inconsistant on some systems. The Swan level is quite difficult to get past.

Neave_Tetris is also based on Flash but simpler in style and much more likely to have wider compatibility. This version follows the traditional Tetris format.

Browse to the downloaded Tetris game and double click to run, a short cut can be created to the game if it is not saved to the desktop.
